| An Experiential Model of Therapy Through the Metaphor of the Horse | 6.5 hours | |
This is a workshop provided by Horses and Heroes for the NASW (National Association of Social Workers). What's new in working with children, adolescents, individuals, families, couples and groups? Horses! Yes, horses have been added to the therapeutic tool kit used by mental health professionals to aid in the treatment of a wide range of mental health issues. These include but are not limited to depression, grief and loss, trauma, addictions, anger management, divorce, and of anxiety. Equine assisted psychotherapy (EAP) is a hands-on, experiential methodology that can serve as a stand-alone therapeutic intervention or can be easily interwoven into therapeutic services already being offered to clients.
